Our Story

We're the global leader in sexual happiness and ship orders in discreet, boring brown boxes direct from our warehouses in the US, UK and Australia, straight to your door. Buying an adult toy used to involve being confronted by seedy, male-centric websites with in-your-face, adult images and packaging. But colleagues and friends Neal Slateford and Richard Longhurst decided it was time things changed, and a new era of adult toy shopping began in 2002.

2022

Lovehoney sets up a US office with a women-led team consisting of US sexual wellness and e-commerce experts.

2021

Lovehoney joins forces with WOW Tech, the makers of We-Vibe, Womanizer, ROMP, Arcwave, Pjur and Swiss retailer Amorana to become the world's largest sexual wellness company

2016

Lovehoney is presented with the presitgious Queen's Award for Enterprise, a huge step on our mission to make buying and enjoying toys as accepted as shopping for beauty care. We were presented with a second Queen's Award in 2021.

2014

Lovehoney develops its own range of lingerie and intimate apparel for all genders and with an expansive size range from size 0-22.

2012

Fifty Shades of Grey author, E.L. James, names Lovehoney the exclusive designer of the book franchise's pleasure products

2005

Lovehoney develops its first line of adult toys with one of the world's most renowned expert on sex and relationships, Tracey Cox.

2003

Bonny Hall is hired as Lovehoney's first employee doing everything from customer service to content development. For over 15 years, Bonny led all product development as the Global Product Director.

2002

Born in Bath, Lovehoney founders, Richard Longhurst and Neal Slateford, launched the original website with a single computer in Richard's apartment.
